Finding A Nearby Boulder City Cosmetic Dentist
If you live in one of the four main cities within the sprawling Las Vegas Valley - Las Vegas & North Las Vegas, as well as neighboring Henderson and Boulder City – there are probably a dozen or more dental clinics close by your home or workplace.
*** Hidden Dental Practices ***
You might have seen one or two, but there are a lot of offices you aren’t aware of.
That’s because despite there being 1,200 plus dental offices in the Vegas Valley, their offices may be off the main streets or blended-into modern look-alike strip-mall architecture.
*** The Phone Book ***
Of course, there’s always the yellow pages.
In fact, the Las Vegas Valley Embark Yellow Pages has 66 pages of listings for dentists!
So, good luck using the phone book to find a nearby clinic.
Plus, the internet is just so much more usable than the phone book for most people – interactive, relevant, fast.
In addition, only those dentists who pay the big bucks (thousands a year) get the jumbo, full or half-page multi-colored yellow page ads that get the best response rate.
The normal listings are all but a waste of money.
But here’s a tip: The most expensive ad doesn’t necessarily mean the best doctor.
Don’t be duped…
*** The Big Valley ***
Another thing to take into consideration is that the Las Vegas Valley encompasses a huge area.
In fact, it’s approximately 600 square miles incorporating an incredible 65 zip codes.
And while people tend to “shop” for their dental provider with as much diligence as they do their church, convenience must not be overlooked.
Meaning, that people will normally endure some inconvenience to get what they truly need or want.
*** Driving And Stress ***
But clearly, the average person wants to drive as little as possible to run their errands in the expansive Las Vegas valley.
Now add something like a dental appointment and you have a perfect recipe for a stress double whammy.
Ok, so closer is better for most people.
And so the question is posed again, how do you find a local dentist?
*** Use The Internet ***
With the exception of a personal referral from family or friend, your best research tool is the internet.
Ok, to recap, there are four cities in a 600 square mile area with 65 zip codes and more than 1,200 dentists.
Where should you start?
Go to your favorite search engine – we recommend Google because it offers certain features other search engines don’t.
*** Use The Right Search Terms ***
Into the search box, type something like: find a dentist, or find Henderson Cosmetic Dentist.
If you are interested in finding a specialist, you can use terms like these: North Las Vegas Cosmetic Dentist or Las Vegas holistic dentist.
The advancements in search technology now allow the major engines to auto-display listings for your local area without you telling them where you live.
Check it out by just typing something like: nearby dental offices, local implant dentist or even just the root term itself, like: root canal specialist or holistic dentist.
You can also enter a general term like dentist and your zip code into most search engines to get focused, local listings.
Once you find a suitable listing, you can use the maps link to get a visual display of where the office is.
One of the great benefits of this feaure is the ability to view and print-out both a map and turn-by-turn driving directions.
So, input search terms such as these to get ultra focused: Orthodontist 89163 , emergency dentist 89121 or you might even try something like: braces 89109.
You don’t have to use words like “a” or “an”, because the search engines automatically overlook those words anyway.
The majority of searchers enter complete sentences. But in reality, Google (and other search engines) work more efficiently without the use of such non-relevant, filler words such as adverbs.
*** The Search Listings ***
You should be aware of something before you go searching online for a dentist.
The web is full of poor quality sites, including the majority of dental sites.
In fact, many of the sites you may come across are really nothing more than advertising sites where only a few local dentists have a listing within the site’s directory.
In other words, only those dentists who have paid the site owner for a listing will be found on these directory types of sites.
All others will NOT be among the available choices, so you are only exposed to a tiny sample of existing dental practices.
As time goes by you’ll see more and more dental practices with their own websites as well as fewer and fewer junky sites listed.
At present, though, even the dentists with their own sites often are not found in the first few pages of listings for common search terms.
*** It’s All About Marketing ***
It’s the same online as offline – if no one can find you, you don’t exist.
Clearly, becoming a dentist doesn’t also include an education in business and marketing.
Thus, the common challenge of finding a good local dentist.
Ever wonder how some clinics seem to thrive and others to remain in the shadows? Marketing is the key.
It’s those well-marketed practices who also enjoy the increased benefits of free referrals via word-of-mouth from satisfied existing patients.
*** Persistence Pays ***
It may take some time and effort, but you will be able to find a local dentist’s office.
Hopefully this article has provided some valuable insight into the challenges and methods involved in finding a dentist in your local area.
